In the beginning of October, four researchers from Osaka University's visited ZRC SAZU to learn about migration and integration mechanisms and practices in Southeast Europe. In this framework, they learned about DRIM project's aim and activities. Interestingly, the experiences of Japan in tackling the issue of migrants' access to information were also among the inspirations behind the initial conception of the project. 

They have also met with other DRIM partners, namely with the Centre for Peace Studies in Zagreb, where the discussion turned around the measures taken by state and non-state actors in receiving asylum seekers and refugees and their integration in the new environment. They also visited Belgrade and the Serbian DRIM partner YUCOM where they were shown the activities and NGOs included in the initiative House of Human Rights and Democracy as well as informed about the legal aspects of integration of migrants into Serbian society and especially the protection of vulnerable groups like asylum seekers. 

The meetings were also an opportunity for the exchange of practices in the field of migrant integration regarding interpreting, legal practices and schooling of migrants' children in both Japan as well as the respective countries of the Danube region.
