A Big Honour is the awarding of the Council of Europe Council of Europe certificate to the Iron Age Danube Route

 
 


The Danube‘s Archaeological eLandscapes project, which breaks new ground in the digitization and digital visualization of archaeological heritage, will end in two months.
The partners of the project met together with their guests for the last time on November 3rd and 4th at a closing event in Zagreb. One highlight was the awarding of the Council of Europe Council of Europe certificate to the Iron Age Danube Route.
The Iron Age Danube Route certificate was awarded at a ceremony on November 3, 2022 at Dverce Palace. Mr. Stefano Dominioni, Director of the European Institute for Cultural Routes/
Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe programme, presented the certificate.
The ceremony was attended by Minister of Culture and Media Ms. Nina Obuljen Koržinek, Ms. Laura Topolovšek, Assistant to the Head of the Municipal Office for Culture, International Relations and Civil Society, Ms. Marta Fazekas, Program Director of the Hungarian Tourism Agency and a number of high-profile guests from all partner countries.
 

 

Based on archaeological heritage from 5 different periods the following routes can be explored in a new web database

 

 

The partners of the Danube’s Archaeological eLandscapes developed a database highlighting archaeological regions, sites, and museums relevant to new archaeological routes covering different time periods. The information on archaeological landscapes is now available online:

Palaeolithic (Stone Age route), Neolithic (Neolithic route), Copper Age (Copper Age Route), Bronze Age (Bronze Age route) and Late Antiquity and Early Medieval Period (Barbarian’s route).
