03-03-2022

DANUBE´S ARCHAEOLOGICAL ELANDSCAPES PROJECT IS PROUD TO PRESENT A NEW STRATEGY OFFERING A FRESH VIEW ON DIGITIZATION, SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT AND VISUALIZATION OF THE CULTURAL HERITAGE IN THE DANUBE REGION AND BEYOND.

One of the possibilities to increase the visibility of cultural (archaeological) heritage on regional, national and international level is the use of new digital technologies. The steps in the digital era of cultural heritage should be well considered in order to create high and sustainable value from your investment.

The strategy “Sustainable touristic value from digitization of archaeological heritage” developed by an expert group from ten countries of the Danube region can help you to understand the processes behind archaeological digital visualisations and to prepare yourself for the development of own digital project in the sector.

The strategy approaches the topic of archaeological heritage from an archaeological, social and technological point of view. Using SWOT analyse the critical challenges of the industry were defined and two central strategy units were derived from them.

The first unit focused on work processes from archaeological discovery to virtual interpretation and visualization. The second part deals with the potential of archaeological heritage in the digital world. To support the further adaptation and development of new technologies for the archaeological sector, the strategy concludes with 12 recommendations for cultural heritage stakeholders.
