Only 4 days to go! The ConnectGReen final conference

The Secretariat of the Carpathian Convention, the Carpathian Network of Protected Areas (CNPA) Steering Committee, WWF, CEEweb, and Eurac Research kindly invite you to the International Conference “Protected Areas - Cornerstones of Ecological Connectivity in the Carpathians and Beyond” that will take place on 28-30 September 2021 in Visegrád, Hungary and online.

What will the Conference offer?

• To learn about recent developments in the Carpathians & to raise awareness on the need for cross-sectoral approaches for the identification, conservation and restoration of ecological connectivity in the Carpathians and beyond,
• To present, share and discuss the outputs and experiences of the ConnectGREEN project,
• To allow the Carpathian Network of Protected Areas members to get together, exchange knowledge and experience, and hear about new methods and approaches to improve and safeguard ecological connectivity,
• To foster collaboration between projects dealing with ecological connectivity.

The end of ConnectGREEN:

Numerous project outputs of ConnectGREEN will be presented at the Conference, including:

• The Methodology for Identification of Ecological Corridors in the Carpathian Countries by Using Large Carnivores as Umbrella Species;
• the Guidelines on How to Use Spatial Planning Tools in Integrative Management of Ecological Corridors;
• the Innovative Decision Support Tool; and
• an updated Carpathian Countries Integrated Biodiversity Information System (CCIBIS).

We will, however, also look beyond ConnectGREEN and the Carpathians to exchange experiences and knowledge with projects and representatives from the Alps and the Dinaric Arc.
