Amazon of Europe Bike Trail - NEWSLETTER #6

23-10-2020

The year 2020 so far is challenging. We, like the rest of the world, had to adapt to a new reality. Although we had to postpone some activities, we managed to do a lot of work! Our meetings, and some events, went online but we still succeeded to organize our 2nd International Amazon of Europe Biking Festival.

From Bad Radkersburg to Apatin, through four countries and along Mura, Drava and Danube rivers, from August to October, second International Amazon of Europe Biking Festival took place. Varaždin County was the first one to organize cycling event in August called "Paths of the Drava River”, while Koprivnica Križevci County followed with cycling event “With bike to the village”.

September was blooming with cycling events! Events were held in Bázakerettye, Letenye and Barcs in Hungary but also in Međimurje, Virovitica-Podravina and Osijek-Baranja County in Croatia. October, last month of the festival, was reserved for Somogy in Hungary, Bad Radkersburg in Austria, Apatin and Sombor, with an online event, in Serbia.

Although we didn’t manage to organize festival as it was planned, we are happy many people that participated recognized benefits of cycling, especially during these strange times.

*During the festival all participants respected epidemiology measures and recommendations regarding COVID 19 pandemic.
