LET'S WRITE SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORT HISTORY TOGETHER. bUCHAREST, jUNE 25TH

Don't miss the chance to literally write transport history together, by contributing to the text and to adopting the Bucharest Declaration on Sustainable Transport, focusing on motorways and railways that take nature into account.

When? June 25th.

Where? In Bucharest, Romania.

How? By registering until June 15th, at this link to the EU-level conference: “Pathways to greener transport infrastructure. Conference on solutions and policy options for sustainable road & rail networks in Europe”.

On June 25th 2019, Bucharest becomes the informal European capital of green transport. On this date the TRANSGREEN project consortium brings together the key voices in sustainable transport planning, in one event, organized under the aegis of the Romanian Presidency to the EU Council and to the EUSDR: "Pathways to greener transport infrastructure. Conference on solutions and policy options for sustainable road & rail networks in Europe".

  • Contribute to the Conference Declaration on Sustainable Transport

Your participation is key in accomplishing one of the main event results: adopting the Conference Declaration on Sustainable Transport. We invite you to read through the document here. You may download it, comment on the text and send us your feedback by June 19th at transgreen@wwf.ro You can then join us at the conference to take part in adopting the final text of the declaration.

  • Engage in crucial conversations

You are invited to actively engage in the open-floor dicussions with the guest experts and officials presenting the latest perspectives on policy, financing schemes and technical solutions for greener transport infrastructure in Europe.

You will connect to our core topic from complementary perspectives, such as the view on sustainability from the transport side - Vincent O'Mally, Conference of European Road Directors (CEDR) - or the approach that nature conservation has regarding transport infrastructure - Stefan Leiner, Head of Unit Biodiversity, DG Environment, European Commission, to name only two of the speakers. Full event agenda available here.
