STRATEGY FOR IMPROVING ACCESS TO INFORMATION FOR MIGRANTS

To support systematic and systemic change in how public institutions disseminate and migrants receive information our Strategy is detailing the necessary steps for building a robust information infrastructure for migrants in the Danube region and beyond.

“GLOBE IN MOTION” AND “MULTIPLE SHADES OF MIGRATION”

Two scientific edited volumes with regional and internationally recognized scholars focusing on integration outcomes in the region and beyond.

Second volume will be published in July 2019.

"The choice of the authors for scientific volume Globe in Motion. Patterns of International Migration: Similarities and Differences has been based on the need to reflect the heterogeneous substance of migration as well as to inform on, compare and evaluate hitherto experiences in various geographical and social dimensions. Though being global in an interconnected world, international migration still provides very good opportunities to juxtapose and assess diverse practices, policies and attitudes at the EU, national, regional or local levels. This book has been published as an outcome of a project supported by the European Union within the scheme Interreg (DRIM – Danube Region Information Platform)."

PILOT ACTIONS, TRAININGS FOR PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS AND WORKSHOPS WITH DECISION MAKERS

In the course of the project more than 500 hundred public institution’s representatives participated at our events. For each of these formats a detailed methodology was prepared and you can learn all about this in our outputs (see the library section of our website).

REACHING BEYOND DANUBE REGION AND MAKING AN IMPACT IN THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY

During a life-course of the DRIM our hard work and efforts were recognized within and beyond Danube region. We have featured in a number of highly visible events and have been recognized as a best practice among policy-makers practitioners and experts. We have entered into strong collaboration with INTERACT programme and were invited to two of their top migration conferences in Athens and Valencia. We have organized an international scientific conference with internationally acclaimed researchers like Prof. Emeritus Rhinus Penninx and EU high representatives. At the largest event of EU’s DG Region event “European Week of Cities and Regions” we were a finalist at a competition “Six projects, one slam” and presented DRIM through stand-up comedy routine. We have also been invited to present DRIM at the Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for Baltic region (a “sister” Strategy), at the Polish Ministry of Interior’s National Migration Network Conference and to Norwegian Prime Minister, Erna Solberg, along with Serbian Prime Minister, Ana Brnabic, during Norwegian Prime Minister’s official state visit to Serbia.
