Archaeology and the European Year of Cultural Heritage is amongst the main themes of this annual convention,see:https://www.e-a-a.org/EAA2018/Home/EAA2018/Home.aspx?hkey=a220a6d3-0479-491d-b7a4-680f05f025a4
The Iron-Age-Danube project covers many specific objectives of protection and promotion of cultural heritage. The development of strategies on this field is one of the main project’s goals. To promote the values of "shared heritage” to the public as well as to the scientific community is crucial and the EAA the ideal platform for this.
The session #749 of EAA program with the title “From Strategies to Practice in the Protection and Promotion of Archaeological Landscapes” is part of the theme “Archaeology and the European Year of Cultural Heritage” and one single opportunity to promote the innovative approach of the Iron-Age-Danube Project.
The idea of this session comes from Iron-Age-Danube project partners Archaeolingua Fondation (Dr. Erzsebet Jerem), University of Ljubljana (Dr. Matija Črešnar), Center for Prehistoric Research (Dr. Hrvoje Potrebica) and Universal museum Joanneum (Dr. Marko Mele).
By accepting this idea, the importance of this issue is clearly perceived by the EAA and therefore shows the relevance of the Iron-Age-Danube-project objectives.Participants of the session will inter alia discuss about their positive as well as negative experiences and practices in the strategic planning and implementation processes that occur while dealing in the broadest sense with the management of archaeological landscapes.
Besides papers, which will be selected by an international call, following Iron-Age-Danube project partners have the intention to represent the Iron-Age Danube project goals on this unique occasion by various lectures:
