CAMARO-D meets PROLINE-CE

Dear readers,

the CAMARO-D project consortium will present first outputs and a status quo of the project work during its MIDTERM-CONFERENCE, scheduled for June 12th and 13th, 2018 in Ljubljana city-centre. A panel discussion will give the opportunity to jointly debate the challenges of the project.

This event will be organised along with the CENTRAL EUROPE project PROLINE-CE, a project which focuses on optimal land-use management for drinking water protection, whereas CAMARO-D develops a river-catchment-based Land Use Development Plan for a sustainable protection of water resources and mitigation of flood risk. Thus, this is the perfect opportunity to get an insight in both projects’ approaches and potential cross-fertilization!

The pilots are compiled in three clusters, referring to interdependences between:

  • Land use and vegetation cover along torrents, small rivers and their catchments
erosion, floods, soil compaction, surface runoff, invasive plant species and water pollution
  • Land use and vegetation cover along rivers and accumulation lakes – erosion,
floods soil compaction, surface runoff, invasive plant species and water pollution
