DANUrB+ - HAVE YOU SEEN DANUBIA? – A FILMED GEOPOETIC JOURNEY ALONG THE DANUBE
29-09-2021
Gael and Ramona from Des châteaux en l'air, a theatre company based in Strasbourg, France, together with their 9 & 13 years old kids Dora and Amos, decided to undertake in an extraordinary journey, and to share it with the audience in their hometown and around in November.
On May 2nd, 2021, they began their trip project "Danubia - Mirror in the Waters / A geopoetic Journey”, in which they explore the Danube on board of their boat Amorados. The starting point was in Strasbourg on the Rhine, following the Main River, then they sailed through the Main-Danube Channel until reaching the Black Sea. Each member of the family had the chance to follow the trip on the sitemap, which was enriched almost daily with images. The children, being small and new explorers, added priceless insights to the project. The different dimensions of the journey are presented on the website: company's journey, kids' journey, PK Selfie Project, etc. A base-map is also available to track the visited places during the journey. The adventurers were always open for communication, and networking. The trip gave them the opportunity to meet new people and to make new friends.
Gael, Ramona, and their children, through their Danubia’s journey, had connected with the DANUrB+ consortium, and in this way they were welcomed during their stopovers by partners in Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, and Romania. The first encounter was in Budapest, and they were shown a nice example of the new ways of the use of the embankment. The goals and outcomes of the project were presented to them, and there was an open discussion about the common values, and the necessary support of such special initiatives that represent and promote the potential and power of the Danube River. Gael and Ramona met with DANUrB+ partners in Novi Sad, Serbia, Giurgiu, Romania, Ruse, Bulgaria, etc., where they had the chance to demonstrate a footage from their boat journey along the Danube and to share what they’ve learned from interacting with the residents in the visited towns. Thanks to the DANUrB+ partners, the adventurers also obtained a lot of great contacts with people that helped them on their way and other stopovers.
After almost 5 months, the first version of their river adventure movie ′′Danubia (A Geopoetic Journey)", is online. It can be seen on www.danubia.org, by clicking on the orange cinema clap. The movie lasts around an hour and the authors are looking forward for feedback and reactions, especially from all those wonderful people who supported, welcomed, helped, followed, advised, listened, read, encouraged them before and during the trip. Not all lived or filmed moments were included in the movie, but the adventurous family will definitely keep them in their memories and will eventually share them during the upcoming show Le Nouveau Relax in Chaumont: ′′Danubia - Mirror of Waters′′, which will be premiered between 24th and 28th of November at TJP CDN Strasbourg, then in several theaters in France, and later on in the Danube countries.
To contact or support Gael and Ramona, follow them on their social medias or participate in their initiative the PK Selfie Project if you live or pass near the Danube.
The DANUrB+ community will certainly remain their passionate supporters and partners, as their adventure and show resonate with the project’s goals and ideas, and there is certain intention to invite them to one of the international conferences, planned throughout the project!
