In recent years, Slovenia has invested more and more resources in education and the promotion of women's entrepreneurship. One of the projects co-financed by the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology and Public Agency SPIRIT Slovenia in cooperation with Ministry of Labour, Familiy, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities is the project "Entrepreneurship is female".

The aim of the project is providing the unemployed women with tertiary education with basic entrepreneurial knowledge and financial incentives to help them on their new path. In the past three years (2016-2018), a total of 1,500 women attended, and nearly 90% set up their own business.

Maribor Development Agency participated at the event "A new opportunity for success" of the three generations of participants of the program "Entrepreneurship is female" that took place in Ljubljana at Walnut Grove in October 2018. The event was an opportunity to meet, network, exchange the experiences, attend the lectures and workshops or present their services and products.
