All project partners of the "Danube Culture Platform" attended the 4th Steering Committee Meeting in Regensburg on Thursday, 11 October 2018 to discuss the project status, actual and upcoming tasks. Afterwards, the Working Group Meeting 6 focussing on the development of the implemented pilot projects and their different stage of realisation took place. Within the "Danube Culture Platform" the pilot projects follow the concept of making the invisble hidden heritage visible and usable in terms of cultural tourism through artistic and technological approach.

The next day the Working group meeting 7 "Creating memorable experiences. An interdisciplinary journey to art and history" draw attention to the expert community in the fields of art, culture and tourism. It offered new and deeper insights in the main topic of the "Danube Culture Paltform" which dedicates itself to the hidden heritage situated below ground level (e.g. archaeologic sites), destroyed, banned or repressed for political or societal reasons, disappeared, little known or of immaterial nature.
The arts are an effective tool for the interpretation of hidden heritage, but these interpretations need to be made easily available and visible to the public. The interpretation of hidden heritage is a sensitive issue, but also an issue of vital importance for the connections in the Danube region.

The first part of the workshop “Developing cultural routes strategies” discussed a proposal for an interpretation framework for the hidden heritage in the Danube region and its possible contribution to the European cultural routes.
The second part of the working group meeting “Artist-in-Residence programmes as a tool for facilitation of history” brought together those responsible for Artist-in-Residence (AiR) organizations to discuss the idea of establishing an AiR platform of existing AiR centers and programmes for the Danube region. We were looking for answers to specific questions and discussion on the conceptual and practical level with experienced AiR partners of the Danube region. Participants from Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and all project partners of the "Danube Culture Platform" attended the meeting to share best practice examples regarding the exchange of artists along the Danube.

A lively discussion showed the wide interest in the project idea and demonstrated the great potential for enlarging existing cultural routes or even establishing new ones. The meeting was attended by almost 40 participants coming from 11 Danube countries.
