The first pilot actions have been already successfully implemented and many more will follow. Read the following overview that shows how our project contributes to sustainable mobility in tourism along the Danube and see which countries new mobiltiy services will follow and when.

MOBILITY INFORMATION CENTERS IN SLOVAKIA, HUNGARY, SLOVENIA, CROATIA, SERBIA, BULGARIA AND ROMANIA

• Murska Sobota (Slovenia): first mobility information center of the project was opened by the Development Agency Sinergija on 21 June 2018 

• Kladovo (Serbia): The Regional Development Agency Easterian Serbia established the mobility information center by the end of 2018

• Donji Milanovac (Serbia): The Regional Development Agency Easterian Serbia established the mobility information center by the end of 2018. The mobility information center will operate within the existing Tourist Info Center.

• Negotin (Serbia): The Regional Development Agency Easterian Serbia established the mobility information center within the existing touist information by the beginning of 2019

• Zajecar (Serbia): The Regional Development Agency Easterian Serbia established the mobility information center within the existing touist information by the beginning of 2019

• Orsova/Dobreta Turnu Severin (Romania): The National Institute for Research and Development in Tourism implemented a mobility information center in the region of Mehedinti County

• Tulcea (Romania): During the European Mobility Week (18-22 September), SERDA opened the so-called Danube Delta Mobility Information center in Tulcea

Further mobility information centers have been established by the "Club "Sustainable Development of civil Society" in Ruse, Silistra, Tutrakan and Svishtov.

Furthermore, WESTPANON will soon establish the mobility information center information center in Mosonmagyaróvár (Hungary).

Special feature: The Danube Office Ulm/Neu-Ulm installed a virtual mobility manager in September 2017. The mobility manager provides the first step of the long-term goal to implement a mobility information center in of Ulm/Neu-Ulm.

BIKE RENTAL SERVICES IN ROMANIA, CROATIA AND HUNGARY:

• The South-East Regional Development Agrncy Romania established a bike rental service with 20 bicycles in the recently opened mobility information center in Tulcea

• The City of Vukovar established a bike rental service in Vukovar (Croatia) in Spring 2019

• WESTPANON will implement a bike rental service in Mosonmagyaróvár (Hungary) in Spring 2019

BIKE CARRIAGE SERVICES IN SLOVENIA, CROATIA AND SERBIA:

• The Danube Competence Center implemented a cyclo-friendly busline in the Serbian Iron Gate in August 2017. The bus line offers bike transport from Belgrade to Kladovo on a seasonal basis.

• A bike carriage systems was implemented in Vukovar (Croatia) by the City of Vukovar in Spring 2019

  • 1 bike carriage system for bus lines

• The Development Agency Sinergija established a bike carriage system which ensures the possibility to transport bikes on bus lines in Murska Sobota (Slovenia) 

FLEXIBLE TRANSPORT SERVICES IN AUSTRIA AND SERBIA:

• Our project partner from the Regionalmanagement Burgenland already implemented the first flexible transport service in the region of Neusiedl Lake in Austria on 30 June 2018.The service is a newly established call-a-bus system for the last mile between existing railway and bus stations and the destination of the tourists (hotel, touristic attraction).

• The Danube Competence Center will establish a cycling friendly service that enables cross-country transfer of cyclo-tourists between Kladovo (Serbia) and Dobreta Turnu Severina (Romania) and thereby guarantees a connection from Belgrade to Bucharest.
  Two taxi drivers will install bicycle carriers on their vehicles and provide regularly transport services based on a fixed price. The service will be most likely implemented in 2019.

KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER: TRAININGS ON MOBILITY MANAGEMENT ALONG THE DANUBE

Up to now, more than 60 participants attended regional mobility management trainings.
