JOINTISZA - Delivering according to plan, meetings conclude
28-11-2017
The second JOINTISZA Project Steering Committee Meeting, held on November 20-21, 2017, in Bratislava, Slovakia, brought together project partner representatives as well as interested associated strategic partners. The meeting, hosted by Water Research Institute (VUVH), offered a close look at the state of the project and the opportunity to approve relevant deliverables. WP leaders detailed the work done so far, and described the risks and problems that need to be addressed. The Steering Committee reviewed and thoroughly discussed the deliverables and issued a general approval of the presented work plan for the project’s third period.
Back to back with the Steering Committee meeting, a Second Project Management Unit Meeting was held on November 20 with the participation of the project manager, financial manager, communication manager, quality assurance manager and other assistants. The main content of this meeting was to review the project’s progress and to discuss issues and questions related to project implementation.
A Second Work Packages Meeting, which followed on November 21-22, allocated time for detailed technical discussions within the work packages and to agree a clear path for the delivery of project deliverables—including the updated draft of the Integrated Tisza River Basin Management Plan—while also ensuring coordination between the different work packages.
It was generally concluded after the meetings that JOINTISZA project implementation and work in all work packages are on the right track. The next Steering Committee meeting is planned for next year in Romania. Until then, the project partners will continue along the path of implementation agreed this month in Bratislava.
