CultPlatForm_21 has received the label for the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018

2018 will be the European Year of Cultural Heritage. Cultural heritage binds Europe together through our common history and values. It also represents the richness and diversity of our cultural traditions. Our shared cultural heritage is to be understood, cherished and celebrated. Yet cultural heritage is not only a legacy from the past. It also helps us forge the way ahead and design our future. The Interreg project Danube Culture Platform (CultPlatForm_21) has received the label of the European Commission as a relevant project on culture and/or creative industries for the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018 and will promote its aims and values.

Save the Date! 2nd Transnational Project Conference,

6–8 June 2018, Linz, Austria

The 2nd Transnational Project Conference will take place on 6-8 of June 2018, at the Landesgalerie Linz, the Ars Electronica Centre, University of Arts and Design and with an organised visit to the Roman remains exhibitions in the Upper Austria. The central topic of the Linz conference will be world heritage, with emphasis on UNESCO World Heritage and the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018. Through panels, discussions and workshops, the issues of audience development and facilitation of history for the audience of the 21st century will be discussed on deliberated on, using best practice examples from the whole world and particularly from the Danube region.

CultPlatForm_21 – 1st Transnational Project Conference, 11–13 October 2017, Pécs, Hungary

The 1st Transnational Project Conference “The key to raising attention. Challenges and perspectives of audience development along the Danube” took place on 11-13 October 2017, at the magnificent Kodály Conference and Concert Centre in Pécs/Hungary – organized and hosted by the Zsolnay Heritage Management Nonprofit Ltd (PP7), in close cooperation with the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts Baden-Württemberg. The central topic of the Pécs conference was audience development which is considered as a challenge for several cultural and touristic institutions and organizations in the Danube region, especially when it comes to the needs of existing and potential audiences of cultural heritage. The conference was successfully concluded with having more than 160 participants arriving from 20 European countries representing numerous cultural and touristic organizations.

NETWORKING MEETING STAKEHOLDER CONFERENCE FOR BADEN-WÜRTTEMBERG, 8 DECEMBER 2017, ULM

In the framework of our INTERREG DTP CultPlatForm_21 project, the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts of Baden-Württemberg had the pleasure to organize a conference for stakeholders from politics, media, education and culture. The aim was to present the CultPlatForm_21 project in the context of other Danube region related initiatives from and for Baden-Württemberg and to promote it among the relevant players. It was also intended to bring together the stakeholders on the occasion of this special project, but also to gain supporters and expertise. The Ministry – as partner of the CultPlatForm_21 project – organized the conference in cooperation with its external project partner European Danube Academy.

The “DANUBE ART LAB” in Regensburg. Open-minded, cosmopolitan and internationally connected

LSince summer 2017 Regensburg hosts an international artist-in-residence program. In cooperation with the association donumenta the City of Regensburg set up the “DANUBE ART LAB”. It is one of the artistic pilot projects which contribute to the development of sustainable impulses for a new, contemporary use of the hidden heritage places. In each of the months of August, September and October 2017, three artists were working in the Academy for Creative Arts in Regensburg as well as in public spaces. A jury of curators from Hungary, Austria and Slovakia had chosen young artists from along the Danube who have already made themselves noticed for their space-related work.
