SABRINA - Best Practices in Cycling Infrastructure Report

21-09-2022

Finally, the Sabrina Best Practices in Cycling Infrastructure Report is here. Strategies, Planning, Implementation, Maintenance and Assessment

In this report, several cycling safety issues identified in the SABRINA project are described (chapter 2). State-of-the art and evidence-based best practice knowledge on the essential ingredients of safe cycling infrastructure are described in chapter 3, together with practical recommendations for implementation.

The content was collected and collated by all SABRINA partners and comprises evidence from practitioners in the Danube region and beyond, as well as from scientific literature and previous EU research projects (INTER-REG and Horizon programs).

The report facilitates learning from each other by addressing three different levels:
1. Cycling development and improvement strategies & policies are presented on national, regional and
local level from, but not limited to, countries within the geographic scope of this project.

2. The chapter on planning principles of safe (cycling) infrastructure focuses on regional and local bicycle networks and their planning guide lines and issues.

3. Examples for safe cycling infrastructure are shown.

Read it, use it, comment on it and stay tuned for future 30 Factsheets on Risks, Solutions and Positive Effects prepared by the SABRINA project team to share with the world.
