CD SKILLS - ESPGHAN CELIAC DISEASE SPECIAL INTEREST GROUP MEETING

22-01-2022

On January 22, 2022 members of the CD SKILLS consortium attended the ESPGHAN Coeliac Disease Special Interest Group (CD SIG). 50 members from different European Society for Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition attended the meeting. General information about the CD SKILLS project was presented by Jernej Dolinsek from UKCMB. Preliminary results of the Assessment of current state of the art were presented by Petra Rižnik from UKC-MB who showed the data about the temporal changes of utilisation of the “no-biopsy” approach for diagnosing coeliac disease in the Danube region and in Central Europe. Concern was raised about the overutilisation of the “no-biopsy” approach, which will be analysed further. Results of the Knowledge and capacity building activity were presented by Zrinjka Mišak from CHZ, presenting the current status of the information exchange platform with cases of the month and cases for discussion. She also presented very impressive figures of 80,000 users of the e-learning tools. Both activities were suggested to be used by other members of the SIG. The first activity will be extended transnationally within the CD in Focus activity of ESPHAN CD SIG, which has already been approved and the second activity will be explored further by CD SIG through the new ESPGHAN initiative which includes Webinars on the ESPGHAN CD SIG site. CD in Focus activity of CD SIG was presented by Jernej Dolinsek form UKC MB. Focus should be now on the implementation and collection of data. National coordinators should invite other centres. All the documents should be sent to all the coordinators and should be put on the CD SIG Web page.
