World Day of Art Nouveau 2021– [Guided city tour “Art Nouveau in Bratislava”]

12. 6. 2021, 14.00, at Hlavné námestie (the Main Square)

Guided walking tour “Art Nouveau in Bratislava” – aimed at the general public – is prepared in collaboration with Bratislava Tourist Board. It invites its participants to discover architectural gems of Art Nouveau in the capital of Slovakia. At the time, as part of Austro-Hungary, the city called Pressburg (in German) or Pozsony (in Hungarian) reflected Art Nouveau inspirations coming from both Vienna and Budapest. Participants will see a number of Art Nouveau buildings in the historic city centre and its proximity, decorated by ornaments and sculptures of plant and animal motifs, often combined with historical elements. There are residential houses, public buildings, schools and also a church among the selected buildings.
