3Smart - presented to students in Zagreb and Belgrade who compete in design of automation systems through the PLC+ challenge

Within the international student challenge PLC+ that involves graduate and undergraduate students from Croatia, Serbia and Slovenia who compete in design of practical automation systems, the 3Smart project manager Assoc. Prof. Mario Vašak held a lecture about the activities of University of Zagreb Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing in design of advanced building automation systems for reduction of energy costs in buildings and making buildings a constructive fragment of smart cities via their active role and responsiveness within smart grids.

Within the 2,5-hour lasting lecture a big emphasis was also put on the current developments within the 3Smart project and very promising initial results obtained. The lecture was followed by discussion and many interesting questions. Materials from the lecture can be found on facebook pages of the student organization EESTEC, branches Croatia and Serbia, who together with the company Siemens for the third year in a row organize the regional PLC+ challenge.
