Amazon of Europe Bike Trail - Meet the Project Partners - Bad Radkersburg (Austria)

08-07-2019

Constructed 700 years ago, the old town of Bad Radkersburg enchants you with its romantic Renaissance buildings, idyllic alleys, arcade courts and friendly cafés. Giving information about the city of Bad Radkersburg and the region surrounding it to guests, booking inquiries and organizing accomodations, guided city tours as well as guided biking tours along the river Mur, ticket office for events, selling merchandising material and gift vouchers, promoting the region Bad Radkersburg on- and offline and many other activities are the daily business of the tourist office of Bad Radkerburg or Tourismusregionalverband Region Bad Radkersburg as it is called in German.

The team:

There are two healing water springs in the town. The thermal spring emerges from the bowels of the earth at a temperature of up to 80° C. At the Parktherme spa, the languorously warm thermal water loosens tense muscles and unfolds a beneficial effect on the body, mind and spirit. The mineral water spring – Stadtquelle Bad Radkersburg – has been considered the spring with the highest magnesium content in Austria since 1927.

Bad Radkersburg has a long tradition as a bicycling El Dorado. Limitless cycling is available on the many kilometres of the bicycle trail network and varied tours all the way to the Slovenian and Hungarian neighbours – for recreational cyclists, bicycle racers and families – for anyone seeking a challenge. A bicycle tour through the landscape of the Mur river floodplains or the gently rolling hills – the possibilities offered by the bicycle trails with excellent signage are virtually endless. The bicycle season begins earlier here than elsewhere. Every year the outdoor season kicks off with the "ANRADELNbicycle season opening in April. The grand 3-stage Tour de Mur from Lungau to Bad Radkersburg is held at the end of May/beginning of June with the subsequent town festival on the Hauptplatz in Bad Radkersburg.

Guided biking tours can be booked from April to October and will show you the specialities of Bad Radkersburg: the scarlett runner bean, the Antenna area next to the banks of the river Mur, just to name a few. Don’t forget to bring your ID Card with you on this tours because it is likley to cross the border to Slovenia!
