Representatives of the Croatian Forest Research Institute, Dr. Mladen Ivanković, head of the Department for Genetics, Forest Tree Breeding and Seed Husbandry, and Miran Lančćak, MSc in forestry, met representatives of Croatian Forests Ltd. company, head of the production department of the regional forest office Koprivnica Mr. Tihomir Dević, forestry engineer and Mrs. Sonja Rukavina, seed husbandry expert. They have discussed the REFOCuS project goals and activities and in that context possible demonstration sites for REFOCuS project, more specifically those related to Pedunculate Oak, European Ash, Field Elm, Black Alder and Poplars. So far demonstration sites have been successfully selected for Oak and Ash and potentially for Elm and Alder. Alder site will be selected in the area governed by the Public Institution for Management of Protected Natural Areas in the Koprivnica Križevci County, the project’s Associated partner. However, search for appropriate Poplar sites will continue in the area of Regional Forest Office Osijek.
