DRIM - CAPITALISATION ACTIVITIES: EMPLOYMENT SERVICE OF SLOVENIA PARTICIPATES AT YOUMIG LOCAL FORUM IN MARIBOR, SLOVENIA

19-03-2018

As part of the capitalisation activities, a representative of the Employment Service of Slovenia, DRIM project partner from Slovenia, participated at the YOUMIG local forum titled “Young migrants in Maribor”.

The event was hosted by the Maribor Development Agency, YOUMIG project partner, and was held on 8 March 2018. The aim of the local forum was to connect different institutions and organisations that come in contact with foreigners in Maribor. The representatives of the Municipality of Maribor, Administrative Unit Maribor, Centre of Social work Maribor, Adult Education Centre Maribor, Employment Service of Slovenia – Maribor Regional Office, Youth Cultural Centre Maribor and Slovene migration Institute, Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts took part in the event. The transnational study on young migrants in Maribor was presented along with the planned activities within the 'One stop shop' and a coworking space for young migrants to be implemented by the Maribor Development Agency with the support of the Institute of Economic Research.

Among other topics, we also discussed how project DRIM and project YOUMIG complement one another. Both of the projects tackle the capacity of public institutions for promoting migrants’ (economic) integration. While in the Danube Compass platform, DRIM's main project output, the information is focused on the national level, YOUMIG will offer information primarily on a local level. In both projects, the access to correct and reliable information is seen as a key part of empowering migrants and supporting their integration process.
