tHIS NEWSLETTER PRESENTS THE MAIN ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE DANUBE S3 CLUSTER PROJECT, STARTING July 2018

the initial implementation period was 01.07.2018- 31.12.2021, however, after the approval of the extension of the project, it will be implemented until december 2021.

 

JOINT S3 CLUSTER STRATEGY BASED ON TRANSREGIONAL ANALYSIS OF REGIONAL CONTEXT AND CLUSTER INNOVATION POTENTIAL IN THE DANUBE REGION

 
 

Project partners elaborated a transnational coordinated cluster strategy to support the development of a sustainable, resource efficient agro-food sector in the Danube region and strengthen the role and market efficiency of clusters. The strategy provides recommendations for actions, structured along five intervention areas (Improve framework conditions for cluster policy; Increase cluster mapping and visibility; Monitoring, accreditation and benchmarking; Cluster management and excellence support programmes; Increase transsectoral cooperation and internationalization

INNOVATION TOOLS and dedicated training sessions to  improve cluster cooperation in the Danube area and SMEs’ competitiveness

 

 

 

This WP is designed to provide the Quadruple Helix actors, especially to cluster policy managers, innovative tools and instruments that are thought to meet the needs identified in the Transnational Analysis of Regional Context and Cluster Innovation Potential. Thus, partners developed 2 Innovation Audit tools for clusters (1 for cluster managers and 1 for cluster members) that are operating in the Agro-Food. Following the assessment, a Business and Innovation training program was developed and delivered to 313 participants.

NATIONAL PROGRAMS dedicated TO SUPPORT CLUSTERS IN THE DANUBE REGION IN THE PERIOD 2021 – 2027

 
 

To bring the Danube S3 Cluster results closer to decision makers, a set of activities has been implemented within policy recommendations work package of the project. These include the organization of 3 policy dialogue workshops, which managed to bring together more than 130 participants from almost all Danube region counties and also beyond. The discussions within these events supported the coordination between the activities of EUSDR PA7 (Knowledge society) and PA8 (Competitiveness of enterprises) and Danube S3 Cluster project.

DANUBE S3 CLUSTER AIMS AT FOSTERING TRANSNATIONAL CLUSTER COOPERATION IN THE AGRO-FOOD SECTOR IN THE DANUBE REGION

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

To do so, it has developed a transnational cluster strategy and executed training for clusters. In addition, 5 local action plans – in Romania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia and Slovakia – have been developed as pilot actions to test the strategy. The activities of pilot actions have been ranging from organization of different events and workshops where various project ideas have been discussed to the organization of two brokerage events, where clusters were trying to identify potential partners and get to the signature of the cluster cooperation agreements.
