ECOINN DANUBE OFFICIALLY STARTED

 
 

On 1 December 2016, 16 organizations from 12 countries of the Danube region officially started the project ECOINN DANUBE (Eco-innovatively connected Danube region). The project focuses on enhancing cooperation of innovation actors in the field of ecoinnovations with special emphasis on development and application of ecotechnologies in the Danube Region.

 

It corresponds to 2 significant problems present in the Region-low innovation performance in major part of the Region and considerable environmental problems. Eco-innovation, which is the principal topic of the project, aims at reducing impacts on the environment, enhancing resilience to environmental pressures, achieving a more efficient/responsible use of natural resources. Overall budget of the project is 2.126.924,97 € with the ERDF contribution of 1.587.447,2 € and IPA contribution of 220.439 €.

Project consortium includes partners and associated partners from twelve countries within 16 organizations from Slovakia, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Germany, Hungary, Czech Republic, Croatia, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Romania and Montenegro.

Kick-off meeting in Bratislava

 
 

The Kick-off event and first project meeting of the transnational project “Eco-innovatively connected Danube Region” (project acronym EcoInn Danube) was held in Bratislava on 15th and 16th February 2017. The lead partner SCSTI hosted the project consortium that includes partners and associated partners from twelve countries within 16 organizations from Slovakia, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Germany, Hungary, Czech Republic, Croatia, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Romania and Montenegro.

ECOINN DANUBE - PROJECT PRESENTATION DURING THE NATIONAL INFORMATION DAY IN BRATISLAVA

 
 

Project EcoInn Danube was presented during the National Information Day event organized on February 20th 2017 by the Slovak National contact point for the Danube Transnational Programme - Government Office of the Slovak Republic. The aim of the meeting was to inform potential applicants about the programme second call and its conditions.

ECOINN DANUBE - PROJECT PRESENTATION AT THE DANUBE REGION SYNERGY WORKSHOP

 
 

Thirteen Priority Area 1 projects, including EcoInn Danube, were presented on the Danube Region Synergy Workshop:  Research – Innovation – Knowledge Society which took place in Vienna, Austria On 30th of March 2017. Initiated by the Danube-INCO.NET project (FP7), the event sought to bring together successful applicants of the 1st DTP call and to look for possible synergies beyond the own project consortium.

 

Back to back with Kick-off meetings of two DTP projects of the 1st call - ResInfra@DR and Excellence in ReSTI, an interactive “PechaKucha” session, where each presenter was given 7 minutes to present the core issues of their project, took place. The audience was equipped with a questionnaire including all key information about the 13 presented projects and proposed actions where one might be interested to establish synergies.

ECOINN DANUBE - PROJECT PRESENTED DURING THE SCIENTIFIC COUNCIL OF BIC BRNO

 
 

Project EcoInn Danube was presented during the Scientific Council of BIC Brno which was organized on April 20th 2017 in the Transport research center in Brno, Czech Republic.

The aim of this meeting was to inform representatives of research institutes about news in international research cooperation.

ECOINN DANUBE - FIRST NATIONAL STAKEHOLDERS' MEETING IN BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA

 
 

CCI Banja Luka organized a National Stakeholders' Meeting within the EcoInn Danube project on 27th of April 2017 in Jahorina, Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The meeting was held along with the Sixth Jahorina Business Forum 2017 attended by more than 400 businessmen from Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad, financial experts, scientists, university professors, representatives of governments and diplomats.

Upcoming event!

ECOINN DANUBE - APPLY NOW FOR THE ECOINN GREEN SUMMER SCHOOL 2017 IN GERMANY!

 
 

From now on young start-ups and entrepreneurs with a focus on sustainable business models have the possibility to apply for the Green Summer School at Lake Constance in Germany. The entrepreneurs already have accomplished the first steps in finding the solution to their identified problem and are motivated to improve their sustainable products and services in order to get established successfully in the market.

 

This year’s Green Summer School takes place from 11 to 15 September 2017 on the campus of the University of Applied Sciences Constance. The event is part of the EcoInn Danube Project implemented within the Danube Transnational Programme and co-funded by European Union funds (ERDF and IPA contribution). The participation is free of charge! Applications of start-up teams and individual entrepreneurs from all over Europe are appreciated and may be submitted here until 30 June 2017.

Practical trainings, Summer schools

 

In scope of the project, practical trainings called Green innovation forum will be organized, with a pitching and matchmaking event for green business ideas, i. e. a physical platform for investors, start-ups, entrepreneurs, researchers and developers to meet and network. Summer schools for students and early stage innovations from the Danube region will create an opportunity for stakeholders to gain unique skills on how to put ideas into practice. In the end it is expected that the project will increase awareness of environmental challenges and eco solutions importance in the field of renewable energy and energy saving.

 

National stakeholder meetings (Round tables)

 

The aim of roundtable meetings is discussion to identify needs and problems. The purpose is to gain understanding of former experience, requirements and future outlook of main actors in the field of eco-innovation which will support the future development, market uptake of green, sustainable products and services. Project partners should seek for problems and solutions proposed by their stakeholders during the meetings – all these information should serve as inputs for strategy and action plans developed within the project. Each partner will organize at least 2 round table meetings by the end of summer.
