The RoadTrip Project is a European travel experience that takes 8 individuals on 4 routes across the continent between Spring and Summer 2018. From the Baltics to the westernmost point of Europe, the length of the Danube, around the Mediterranean and alongside the Atlantic, the Road Trip travellers meet locals and experience the local vibe, and rediscover Europe together with the online community. RoadTrip project is in the second-half of its course with the Danube Route which started from Donaueschingen on the 23rd of June. Throughout its run course till the 21st of July in Danube Delta, the two young travellers (Susann & Kenneth) visited a few DTP approved projects.

On the 29th of June, the Danube route passed by Neuburg-Schrobenhausen for an initiative of a campaign, forged by our very own DANUBEparksCONNECTED, to restore & maintain cohesive ecosystem. Participants from non-governmental organisations, fishermen, and many more spent the day on this wild island, removing the remains of old buildings, shelters and additional garbages of the area. Afterwards, volunteers and organisers celebrated the Danube and their work with a campfire and barbecue.

During their stay in Austria, the two travellers headed to Bad Vöslau where they visited Iron-Age-Danube to discover for their 1st aerial archaelogy the Iron Age heritages they are preserving. Alongside Michael Doneus from Universität Wien on 4th of July, they took to the sky from the Spitzerberg airport in a Cessna 172S Skyhawk. The project is a finalist of the RegioStars Awards 2018, a yearly competition of the European Commission that selects innovative projects funded by the ERDF.
