The kick-off event and first partner meeting of the interregional DANUrB+ project, co-financed by the Interreg Danube Transnational Program 2014-2020, took place online via Microsoft Teams on September 25 and 26, 2020 with participants from 6 Danube countries.

On September 25, 2020, the kick-off gathered over 70 participants from the partners organizations (19), the Associated Strategic Partners organizations (20), and several stakeholders from various countries. The introduction by project leader, Dr. Bálint Kádár, was followed by a welcome speech by Dr. János Józsa, Rector of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME), and greetings of Ms. Ana Legănel, Project Officer at the Joint Secretariat of the Interreg.

No matter the distance, all participants shared a toast to the project and took the chance to honor local wines and products, highlighting the rich production along the Danube river.

After a brief overview of the achievements of the previous DANUrB project by Mr. Béla Zsolt Gergely, the project leader Mr. Kádár presented the DANUrB+ objectives and tasks. All project and associated partners introduced themselves together with several stakeholders who presented both the challenges they face and their expectations from DANUrB+.

September 26, 2020 was dedicated to partners with the presentation of the workplan and discussions related to the implementation of the project. Project specifics were introduced in detail to all partners.  All 18 identified tasks were presented by the task leaders.

Finally, the SCOM meeting wrapped up the 2-day Kick-off event and 1st partner meeting of the DANUrB+ project.
