Croatia, Osijek - On the Faculty of Agriculture is held the Second National Agriculture Conference “Slavonika” with motto inspire agriculture. The Conference was organized by Association Land and People. On this one-day Conference there was more than 350 participants – representatives of family farms, associations, academia, institutions, students and media.

The Conference was official opened by the Minister of Agriculture Tomislav Tolušić who welcomed the participants and said that agriculture in the past two years acts as lost, money from EU funds is not used and he points out that this will be changed.

During the day`s rich program a many topics from the field of agriculture was included. Krešimir Ivančić, Assistant Minister of Agriculture presented “Rural Development Measures”. Victoria Zinchuk, Head of Department of Agricultural Advice from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, London had a presentation on “Agriculture in Croatia – Challenges and Opportunities”.

After the break two round table discussions were held, the first on the topic “The role of the County in the Development of Agriculture” and the other on the topic “Consolidation” where are a lot of experts in these fields talks about the problems related to these topics.

Also at the Conference there were held four panel discussions, where Ivan Domac participated as a panelist in the discussion “Pigs – the Future of Croatian Pig Production” and introduced the LENA project and meet the participants with the role of Vukovar Srijem County on this project. The Conference also attended in front of the Department of International Relations and EU Affairs Magdalena Markasović, associate and also Project Assistant on LENA.
